Rare and early example of a Union Hardware Company “Steel Telescopic” Fly Rod, extending from 49” to 9ft. Rolled steel blanks, ceramic eyes and a cork handle with sliding ring reel seat. This is an unusual rod manufactured between 1864 & 1865,before the company moved premises, in very good condition for its age, it can still be extended to its full length and comes with a cloth bag. Please note the sliding ring has cracked (see photo) but could be brazed to effect a repair.
Vintage Apollo Tubular “Loch Rod” 10ft 3 piece tubular steel Fly Rod in excellent (near mint) condition. Bronzed brass suction ferrules, brown steel blanks, green tipped red eye whippings, red agate lined butt and tip rings, and a 18” cork handle with single slip ring reel seat. This very original Fly Rod appears to have had little use and it comes in its Apollo Tubular Steel Rod, Loch 3 pocket brown cloth bag. Un - assembled length 109cm. 570
