Vintage Hardy “The A H E Wood Salmon Rod” 12ft #8 Palakona split cane fly fishing rod. This rod, stamped H58250 (1964) is in excellent condition. Having bronzed brass Spiral Lockfast joints, agatipe lined butt and tip rings, burgundy eye and intermediate whippings and a 22” solid cork handle with single alloy sliding ring reel seat. This rod comes complete with a turned wooden stopper and a Hardy zip & press stud (working) khaki cloth bag. Please note the Hardy catalogue is for reference only and is not included as part of this sale. * The mid section joint is missing the Lockfast fitting, this has no detrimental effect on the excellent fit between the butt and mid sections

Bamboo butt and centre section, Greenheart tips, bronzed brass suction ferrules, black whipped snake eyes and a 25” wooden handle with brass sliding ring ‘W’ reel seat. This unusual twin tip rod, stamped A73687 (1912) comes with an unbranded 4 pocket khaki cloth bag. Burgundy blanks, red whipped snake eyes, lined butt rings x 2, lined tip ring, turned anodised alloy stopper and a 24” cork handle with anodised alloy sliding lock reel seat. This very original rod appears to have had little use, it comes complete with in its Hardy 3 pocket maroon cloth bag and Hardy branded Cordura zip topped tube with adjustable carry strap. Rare early Hardy “Featherweight” 9ft 6” 2 piece (plus 3 tips) Palakona split cane Fly Rod in very good condition. Lockfast joints, crimson eye and intermediate whipping, lined butt and tip rings, turned hardwood stopper and a detachable cork handle with single nickel silver slip ring wooden reel seat. This rod, stamped 16200 (1890) has seen a repair and lacquer crazing to one tip section, the remaining sections are in very good condition for a rod of this age. The rod comes in a later style Hardy cloth bag, the tips come in a 3 pocket cloth bag and Hardy leather capped bamboo tube for storage. Tube length 143cm. 605
